Cage Changes - YEA!

Since we moved we had to put most of the pigs in their own cages, boy was that a pain when it came to cleaning, even feeding. It is so much easier when they are all open top and we can just throw the hay in there, dump in some food (in their bowl) toss in some Kale or baby carrots and keep going.

It has taken two months to get them all back in Super Large C&C cages, but finally we have done it. Yesterday we got all the boys into C&C and put Gwyn and the babies in the largest top-opening cage we have. She and the babies love the space.

The boys however did all their chattering and some even jumped at each other. We did everything we could to make them stop, and they are fine, it didn't take long actually. Two did bite their lips though. Poor things, but the large amount of space is so much nicer for them.

A couple were really funny, and stationed themselves near huge piles of hay, food bowls and drinking bottles. One was so funny, he just layed there and took from whatever he wanted, I think he sat there for 2 hours. Silly guy. Anyway, we have some girls and hopefully another pair of pigs going out this week, and one boy coming on Saturday. Trying to cut down on who we take in, for July.

One Boy - One Girl The Baby Guinea Pigs

One of my favorite songs by Collin Raye, it seems that the baby guinea pigs we have are one boy and one girl. The boy is all black except a tiny brown throughout. The girl is mostly brown with black throughout, she's pretty. Kids call them Brownie (girl) and Fudge (boy).

I usually try to keep family together and so far we have been able to keep siblings in pairs but not this time. I'm kinda sad for them, but hoping I can send Gwyn (mom) and Brownie and then Tyson (dad) and Fudge out as pairs. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Surprised no one has asked for or expressed interest in them yet. I'm sure it will happen soon though.

3 Guinea Pigs for Adoption by Amy

Milo-
Milo is an American guinea pig who will be 2 years old March 23, 2011. He has a lot of life ahead of him and is happy as a single pig or as part of a group, although he needs a lot of space in order to get along with other male pigs. He will only be rehomed to an owner who has a C&C cage and vet reference.

Laika and Ferdinand-
Laika is a spunky little crested American guinea pig who will be 2 years old as of August 17, 2011. She can be aggressive towards other guinea pigs if confined to a small space. I would prefer to adopt her out with her sister, Ferdie, but will consider letting her go singly to the right home. Laika [and Ferdie] will only go to an owner with a vet reference and an adequately sized C&C cage.

New Baby Piggies- Born This Morning

In December we got a girl that came with a male (they lived together). Unfortunately even though we separated immediately she was already pregnant. This morning I checked her cage and found two cute babies there with her. She cleaned them and everything all up and was good to go, Im glad everything came along with no problems.

They won't be ready for a few weeks but they are absolutely adorable and the kids have called them Fudge and Brownie for now, because they are black and brown. Pics to come soon as my camera card needs to be replaced.

Only Two Baby Boys Left- Come Get Them!

This weekend we had people come to pick up the two white baby boys and Hermione with PipSqueak (she was never posted, that happens a lot here :)

We have two baby boys left, Harry and Ron and they are so cute! Abyssinian piggies, born in November. You will love them.

Special Notice:

Guinea Pigs are very social animals. If you are considering adopting one, please consider having more than one for improved health and personality.
